Fall River’s ‘New Leaf’ dispensary positively grows into the community

Since Dec. 27, 2022. at 12pm, the New Leaf recreational marijuana dispensary located at 2629 South Main street in Fall River has been serving the local community a variety of cannabis strains in the form of flowers, pre-rolls, vaporizers, concentrates, edibles, tinctures, and topicals.

New Leaf’s Director of Operations, Evan Darmody shares, “There’s another location that we are building right now, on 2nd street in Fall River.”

Locals may have noticed that since dispensaries have come to town, workers have begun to repair the potholes in the road, which local drivers have been cautiously avoiding for years. While this could be a coincidence, it is important to highlight that the cannabis industry taxes recreational marijuana users in order to bring the necessary funds back into the community to support local fire departments, schools, roads, etc. What was once considered a rundown city has been built back up to be the ultimate tourist attraction, thanks to tax dollars invested into Fall River by these dispensaries.

“I’m hoping that people will start to release the stigma around cannabis and recognize that it’s a force for good,” said Darmody.

With the help of a few local allies, including The Corky Row Neighborhood Association and Christ of the Rock Church, and Doors of Hope, Opportunity and Open Diversity, (D’HOOD), New Leaf has made a tremendous impact in such a short amount of time.

At New Leaf, customers can easily place orders online for pick-up, or browse in-store. Paper and electronic menus are available on-site.

Some popular items at New Leaf include infused edibles like hot sauce, salt, sugar, ramen seasoning, gummies, macaroons, and seltzers, as well as the highest quality chocolate bars made from Peruvian and Dominican chocolate. The recommended dosage for recreational edibles is 5mg.

“Start low and go slow,” Darmody said.

All cash at this dispensary is handled by a cash recycling machine, an anti-fraud system also good for the planet.

“Nobody has to keep track of a cash drawer. These machines take care of it all,” said Darmody.

New Leaf will often run in-store promotions for holidays and special events, similar to deals held during the grand opening week.

Order ahead on the website and pick up in-store anytime, from 8am to 10pm everyday of the week, or simply walk in and ask a budtender for assistance discovering some new tasty strains.

“At New Leaf, the price on the menu is the price you pay! All prices include tax.
